Castle Paws
Kittens/Cats Available
to approved homes

"From Our Castle to Yours"
Castle Paws Kittens & cats live like Royalty!

We are a small CFA Registered hobby cattery breeding only a few litters per year.   Our cats are NOT
self-supporting.   Both my husband and I work at paying jobs in order to support the cats as our hobby.   We
work exclusively with Shaded or Chinchilla Silver Persians; (The Fancy Feast Cats) however, most of our
silvers are "golden carriers" and "dilute carriers" therefore we sometimes have golden kittens  and blue
silvers born at Castle Paws.

All kittens, regardless of their breed are born with blue eyes.   Only the colorbred (silver or goldens
exclusively--no other colors used in the breeding)  Silver & Golden Persians have the beautiful
GREEN or
BLUE-GREEN eye color.  Eye color begins to come in at 12 to 16 weeks of age.   The Silver & Golden kitten is
born almost black.   As the kitten and the coat grows, it's begins to lighten.
(Watch Silvers Develop) Persian
cat is fully mature at  2 years of age and only get more breathtaking with maturity!  The Silver & Golden
Persians are the most beautiful of all cats and Persians and are known as the ethereal Persians due their
beautiful eye color, their daintiness and elegant lip, nose and eye liners.   Silvers & Goldens are chinchilla or
shaded.   The only difference between the two is the length of the tipping across their back and down their
legs, head and tail.

For the protection of our kittens and cats, we have a written
HEALTH & SALES AGREEMENT which can be viewed from this site.  Our kittens
are handled daily from birth and socialized to make great pets and show cats.   It will please some to know
our kittens/cats are raised in  non smokers environment.

We breed primarily for show prospects; however, not all kittens will meet the strict criteria of the show ring
or are suitable as breeders.   This gives opportunity for "pet" kittens to become available at various times of
the year.

As ethical breeders, we assume responsibility for every kitten that we produce.   We will NOT sell to
PET
SHOPS/ KITTY MILLS or any other type of re-sale facility.   We strongly suggest that you do not support
these types of facilities either as that only encourages more of the same.   We keep our kittens for as long as
it takes to find them loving homes.  We have the right to refuse to allow any of our kittens/cats into any
home environment that we deem questionable.   If at any time after you have taken a Castle Paws kitten or
cat and find that for whatever reason you
are unable to keep him/her anymore, PLEASE LET US KNOW!

Sex of your kitten/cat should never be an issue.   You are obtaining a pedigree pet kitten from a
knowledgeable & reputable CFA Registered cattery with a required
spay/neuter agreement that
must be accomplished by 7 mos. of age.   Once altered, kittens/cats are basically the same other than the
males are customarily larger in size and weight.  Typically silvers are smaller than other Persian cats.
(Average adult weight is 6- 8 # for males & 4 to 6 # for females).   Normally we have more males available,
for nature produces more males than females.

It's a common misconception that ONLY MALES will spray or that ALL males will spray.   This is absolutely
false.  Unaltered females will sometimes spray or leave puddles in an effort to entice or attract a male, so it's
crucial that as a responsible pet owner you follow our recommendations and SPAY OR NEUTER if we have
not already had this done for you.   Your altered pet will be healthier and more pleasant to live with.

Occasionally we have retired "show cats" available to "forever pet homes".   These cats are altered adults
which are very docile and adaptable as Persians are.   Age should NEVER be a determining factor when
adopting a kitten or cat other than being TOO YOUNG.   It is NEVER a wise decision to take a very young and
tiny kitten.  One reason being that prior to the age of 16 weeks, kittens immune systems are premature;
kittens are too young for routine testing and birth defects can not always be detected before 1 year of age.
Sudden changes too early is traumatic for a kitten and may result in behavioral and health issues later on,
so don't rush things!

The ideal adoption age for "reserved kittens"  is 16 weeks and up BUT by 12 weeks of age, kittens are weaned,
they are eating well, vaccinations have begun and most are socialized and developed enough to adapt to a
new environment.  WE WILL NOT PLACE KITTENS UNDER 12 WEEKS OF AGE UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO DO THAT!   Adoption time for  "reserved kittens" is
determined on an individual basis to the best of our ability which is between the age of 12 to 16 weeks & up.
Adoption is a lifetime commitment and should not be entered into lightly.   Persians live an average of 16
to 20 years when kept indoors.  With good health, care and diet have lived to 30 years!
